MBB Bo 105CBS-5 crash near Long Lellang STOLport, Sarawak, Sarawak, Malaysia

The Bo 105 suffered an engine fire on approach to Long Lellang, trailing smoke, and crashed short of runway 04 at the STOLport. All five aboard were killed and the helicopter destroyed by fire. Those on board included a doctor and nurses. The helicopter was operating the Miri to Ba Lai, Long Siut and Long Lellang route, conducting medical visits to remote communities in the Sarawak interior. Classified as a powerplant system or component failure.
