Westland Wasp HAS.1 crash near Mediterranean Sea between Gibraltar and Malta, Malta

Summary
The Wasp suffered an uncontrolled yaw to port and ditched alongside HMS Juno in the Mediterranean Sea, while the ship was on passage from Gibraltar to Malta. All three crew were rescued safely. The airframe was recovered and sent to the Accident Investigation Unit at Lee-on-Solent, then declared a write off on 8 December 1975 and dumped at Fleetlands.
