Schweizer 269C crash near Ponte de Sor, Portugal

A student pilot on her third solo flight struck electric wires while attempting an emergency landing about 2 km from Ponte de Sor airfield, after reporting a click in the cyclic. The helicopter was destroyed and she left it unaided but was seriously injured. Investigators found no technical fault and concluded she was insufficiently prepared for solo flight, noting the effect on the course of a fatal accident in the same type less than a year earlier.
