Robinson R44 II crash near Biscayne Bay, near Key Biscayne, Florida, United States

The helicopter left Hollywood North Perry at 10:48 and flew about thirteen minutes towards Biscayne Bay, then roughly five minutes over the water before its altitude dropped sharply. It came down in the bay, east of Miami Executive Airport, and rescue crews worked from No Name Harbor in Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park on Key Biscayne. Three were aboard. One was killed and two were taken by ambulance for a higher level of care, their conditions not described. The FAA and the NTSB are investigating and no cause has been published. Reported times differ: the Coast Guard gives about 11:30, the FAA about 11:15, and the tracking data shows the altitude loss at about 11:17, which is the time used here.
