Eurocopter AS350B3 Ecureuil crash near Paços de Ferreira, Portugal

A Civil Protection AS350B3 was drawing water from a small rock-lined pond at Lamoso, Paços de Ferreira, to support a fire at Sanfins when it struck the water and sank. The pilot survived with minor injuries. Investigators found sun glare on the water during the critical phase of the approach was the main factor, compounded by it being his first time at that site and his first mission of the season.
