Harbin XLI Celier Xenon crash near Chaka Salt Lake, China

A Harbin XLI (Celier Xenon) gyroplane crashed during a sightseeing flight over the Chaka Salt Lake tourist area in Qinghai Province. The aircraft encountered wake turbulence from another gyroplane flying in formation, causing the pilot to lose control. The gyroplane spun and crash-landed on top of two tourists on the ground, causing serious head injuries. Both tourists remained conscious and were taken to hospital in stable condition. The pilot and passengers on board were uninjured. Authorities seized the aircraft and launched an investigation.
