Mil crash near Damare, near Girei, Adamawa, Nigeria

The helicopter left Yola air base on a training flight at about 09:30 and came down four minutes later near Damare, a suburb of Girei. Accounts conflict. The defence spokesman said the pilot made a controlled forced landing with no casualties; witnesses and a security source described a crash with five on board, reportedly including American personnel, and two injured. The helicopter was reported destroyed. Neither the type nor the serial was published, and the make here is unconfirmed.
