Sikorsky S-76C+ crash near Bonny, Nigeria

An Eastwind Aviation Sikorsky S-76C+ (5N-BQG) crashed into the Atlantic Ocean southeast of Eket while en route from Port Harcourt NAF Base to the Nuim Antan FPSO oil platform. All 8 on board were killed. The NSIB preliminary report found the helicopter was not fitted with a mandatory Flight Data Recorder, the radio altimeter had been deferred, the crew used non-standard phraseology, and weather reporting was poor. The investigation continues.
