Helicopter crash near Giresun, Turkey

A Turkish military helicopter carrying senior military personnel and their family members crashed in the highlands of Giresun Province in the Black Sea region. Seven people were killed and eight injured. The helicopter was carrying a lieutenant general, a colonel, and two majors returning from visiting troops for the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said the crash appeared to be caused by adverse weather conditions and was not a terror attack.
