Whirlwind HAS.7 XN379, coded C-336 of 824 Squadron, suffered a loss of power attributed to a suspected fuel pump failure and ditched in the Mediterranean Sea off Malta while operating from HMS Centaur. The three crew were rescued. The helicopter sank and was not recovered.
