Helicopter crash near 70 Mile House, Canada

A helicopter went down over a lake near 70 Mile House, British Columbia during wildfire operations in the Big Bar wildfire complex at approximately 10:30 a.m. The sole pilot was transported to hospital with minor injuries. The helicopter was supporting operations on the massive Pear Lake wildfire (124,656 hectares) which was threatening the communities of Clinton, Chasm and 70 Mile House. The Transportation Safety Board and WorkSafeBC have launched investigations.
