Aerospatiale AS350B2 crash near Atikokan, Canada

A Wilderness Helicopters Aerospatiale AS350B2 (C-GVXH, manufactured 1979) was conducting a flight from Atikokan Municipal Aerodrome, Ontario, to a location 30nm east-northeast. While on final approach at approximately 4 feet AGL, a bang was heard from a tail rotor strike and the helicopter rotated left. The pilot reduced the throttle to idle, lowered the collective, and landed after completing one full rotation. The aircraft came to rest upright with no injuries. There was damage to the tail rotor, skids, and airframe structure. The TSB classified the event as a collision with obstacle during takeoff and landing.
