Incident report
Robinson R22 Beta II crash near Strejnic Airfield, Târgșoru Vechi, Romania
unknown2019-03-08
Summary
On a training flight at Strejnic, the student pilot completed the pre-takeoff checks with normal parameters and began the takeoff. The helicopter lifted on the left skid first, then pivoted about the right skid, rolled uncontrollably right and struck the ground with the main rotor blades. It overturned onto its right rear side, one blade separated and was found 36 metres away, and the tail boom broke. The aggregator records the phase as landing, but the investigation narrative describes a takeoff. Only a preliminary report was issued and no cause has been published.
