Incident report
Magni M22 crash near Vleesbank farm airstrip, Western Cape, South Africa
minor2025-10-04
Summary
The pilot returned to the grass strip at Vleesbank farm after a local scenic flight. At about 20 mph during the landing roll the gyroplane met a sudden low level wind shear from the left and he lost directional control. It veered right off the runway where the rotor blades struck tall wheat, turning the gyroplane over onto its right side. Neither occupant was injured. The Civil Aviation Authority attributed it to the wind shear, with poor landing technique a contributing factor.
