Mil Mi-17 crash near Mazatlan, Mexico

A Mexican Navy Mil Mi-17 helicopter suffered a loss of power in the main engine while attempting to take off from a naval facility in Mazatlan, Sinaloa. The helicopter crashed back to the ground seconds after liftoff. No casualties were reported. Video captured by bystanders showed the helicopter rising briefly before dropping back down. The incident was caught on camera and widely shared on social media.
