Whirlwind HAS.7 XN303, coded C-333 of 824 Squadron, ditched in the Mediterranean Sea off Malta while operating from HMS Centaur, after the pilot was unable to increase engine rpm. The cause was attributed to a suspected oil flow restriction in the throttle control system. The three crew were rescued.
