Bell 412 crash near Ischigualasto, Argentina

A Bell 412 helicopter crashed in Ischigualasto Provincial Park in San Juan Province, western Argentina, approximately 1,100 km northwest of Buenos Aires. The aircraft lost contact with base at approximately 10:30 a.m. local time while conducting a training mission before heading to neighbouring La Rioja Province to support efforts to contain forest fires. All seven people on board were killed, including firefighters, police officers, and civil protection personnel. San Juan Governor Marcelo Orrego confirmed the deaths and expressed condolences. A rescue team was deployed and an investigation is underway.
