Summary
A German Air Force Eurocopter EC135P2+ (D-HCDL, callsign Stallion 82) from the 64th Helicopter Wing based at Holzdorf Air Base crashed into the Mulde River near Grimma, Saxony, during a training flight. The helicopter was reported missing between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. local time and wreckage was discovered around noon. All three crew members were killed. It was the first fatal crash involving a Bundeswehr EC135 in 20 years. Major General Holger Neumann stated the crew was experienced. A special investigation commission was appointed.
