Eurocopter AS 350B2 crash near Sehmatal, Germany

A Eurocopter AS 350B2 crashed into forest near Sehmatal in the Ore Mountains, Saxony, at around 10:00 local time while carrying out aerial lime-spreading work. The helicopter was destroyed and caught fire after impact, with firefighters preventing the blaze spreading to surrounding woodland. The pilot, the sole occupant, was fatally injured. The aircraft was built in 2002 (MSN 9054) and operated by Heli Transair European Air Services GmbH.
