Kamov Ka-26 crash near Kőrösladány, Hungary

A Kamov Ka-26 on a fertiliser flight near Kőrösladány had been loaded with denser granules and rock salt than usual, and could not stay airborne after a vertical takeoff from soaked ground. The pilot tried to hop the helicopter back to firm ground in a series of short lifts, but on one landing the nose gear dug in and broke, the aircraft tilted and the rotors struck the ground and each other. The pilot was unhurt and the helicopter was destroyed.
