Summary
Whirlwind HAR.21 WV199, coded T of 845 Squadron, ditched in the Mediterranean Sea off Malta while entering a hover, after either a loss of power or mishandling of the controls. No definite cause was established. The aircraft was a Sikorsky-built HO4S-3 supplied to the Royal Navy under the Military Assistance Program, and was struck off charge on 24 April 1957.
