Robinson R22 Beta II crash near Billund Airport, Southern Denmark, Denmark

After about an hour practising landing profiles on the dedicated grass area for helicopter training at Billund, the student pilot went outside the designated area on one attempt and the instructor changed the exercise to a low hover. The helicopter did not fully settle into the hover, and neither pilot noticed that the rear left skid had caught in a bump in the grass. It entered a dynamic rollover to the left and went over onto its side. Both evacuated unaided. Final report 2022-197.
