Robinson R44 Raven II crash near La Aurora International Airport, Guatemala City, Guatemala, Guatemala

Arriving from San Salvador and cleared to the south ramp at La Aurora, the R44 lost engine power on approach from the east side of the active runway and the pilot began an emergency landing toward the ramp. On contact with the surface the main rotor blades struck the tail boom. The pilot shut down the engine and assessed the damage to the fuselage structure. Classified as a powerplant failure.
