Summary
A US Army UH-72A Lakota helicopter crashed in a field on Cool Springs Road near Opp, Alabama during a routine flight training exercise out of Fort Novosel (formerly Fort Rucker). An instructor pilot and two student pilots were on board. All three were transported to a Dothan hospital in stable condition. The Covington County Sheriff said it appeared the helicopter lost power before crashing. No property on the ground was damaged.
