Bell 212 crash near Trancoso, Portugal

A Helisul Bell 212 was returning to base from a forest fire with the pilot and a firefighting crew aboard when the pilot saw fluctuating engine indications and main rotor speed falling. He lowered the collective, shut down the turbines and autorotated to a clear field at Quinta do Botelho, Golfar, near Trancoso. The helicopter touched down slightly sideways and fell onto its left side, the rotor striking the ground. All nine on board got out by themselves without injury.
