It touched down about 320 ft short of the helipad facing east, rotated downslope, and the tail rotor struck the ground before a final rotation brought it to rest on sloping terrain. None of the seven on board, two crew and five passengers, was injured. The ventral fin was sheared, the stabiliser damaged, the tail rotor destroyed, the tail rotor drive shaft sheared, the right skid damaged, and all hydraulic fluid was lost. AAIB India is investigating with assistance from Leonardo and the Italian authorities. The aircraft was destroyed three months later during its recovery.
