Sud Aviation SE 3130 Alouette II crash near Beuson, Switzerland

Two Air Glaciers helicopters, an Alouette III and a Bell 206B JetRanger, collided as they were preparing to land on a football field in Beuson, Valais, after a series of five-minute panoramic sightseeing flights over the Swiss Alps near Sion. The seven Indian tourists were among a party of approximately 150 from Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Kanpur. All six passengers and the Swiss pilot aboard the Alouette III were killed. In December 2004, a Sion district court convicted the two surviving pilots, Christian Rosat and Jean-Jerome Pouget, of negligent homicide with suspended sentences of five and four months respectively. Air Glaciers owner Bruno Bagnoud was acquitted. It remains the deadliest helicopter accident in Swiss history.
