Summary
A Czech Air Force Bell UH-1Y Venom helicopter crashed at the 22nd Helicopter Air Force Base in Namest nad Oslavou, approximately 180km southeast of Prague. One soldier was killed and four were injured. The UH-1Y Venom entered Czech service in July 2023, replacing Soviet-era Mi-35 helicopters which were transferred to Ukraine. All of the Czech military's H-1 helicopters have been grounded pending investigation. Defence Minister Jaromir Zuna called the incident an immense tragedy.
