Guimbal Cabri G2 crash near Almere, Netherlands

A HeliCentre Guimbal Cabri G2 (PH-HCC, manufactured 2010) made a hard landing southeast of Almere after a simulated engine failure during autorotation training. The instructor selected minimum power at 1,200 feet and attempted to add power at 400 feet to terminate the exercise, but the engine did not respond. After multiple attempts, the engine provided limited power during final landing causing a left yaw and sideward hard landing damaging the left skid. The Dutch Safety Board found the throttle design likely prevented it from being fully turned to the stop. Both crew were unharmed.
