Eurocopter AS332L2 crash near Den Helder, Netherlands

A Bristow Helicopters Eurocopter AS332L2 Super Puma (G-JSAR, manufactured 2002) made an emergency ditching in the North Sea approximately 10nm northwest of Den Helder at 23:28. The crew reported engine speed fluctuations and controllability problems. All 4 crew and 13 passengers evacuated into the water and were rescued after approximately one hour. One passenger was hospitalised with light hypothermia. The passengers were non-essential staff being evacuated from the K15B platform after a blackout. Life rafts in the sponsons were not used during evacuation.
