Bell 206B JetRanger III crash near Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, Escuintla, Guatemala

The JetRanger was flying aerial application over the sugar cane plantation at the Finca del Ingenio Santa Ana when it struck terrain. Both occupants survived. The investigation found the aircraft was properly maintained and certified, its documents in order, and no evidence of any defect, failure or malfunction that could have contributed. The fuel, though very low in the tanks, was uncontaminated and of the recommended type. Taking into account negligence in flight dispatch, the accident was classified as operational in type.
