Bell UH-1H crash near Marambio Island, Antarctica

Summary
The UH-1H lifted from the deck of ARA Cándido de Lasala to move a portable tank containing 1,000 litres of diesel to the plateau crowning Marambio Island. Arriving at the edge of the plateau, the underslung load touched the ground, the pilot lost control, and the helicopter struck the slope, exploding and catching fire. All three aboard were killed.
