Summary
The Black Hawk crashed on Tiran Island following a stabilator failure. Eight of the nine on board were killed — six Americans, a French national and a Czech citizen — with one survivor. The helicopter belonged to Detachment 1, Aviation Company, 1st US Army Support Battalion, based at Sharm el-Sheikh with the Multinational Force and Observers.
