Eurocopter AS350B2 crash near McArthur River, Canada

Summary
An Eurocopter AS350B2 (C-GKPH, manufactured 1999) operated by Access Helicopters was conducting a VFR flight approximately 9.4nm NNW of McArthur River Aerodrome, Saskatchewan. While flying at low level over a lake, the right landing gear skid contacted the water surface and broke apart, sending debris into the main rotor. One main rotor blade was damaged on its trailing edge. The aircraft landed safely at the aerodrome. No injuries. The aircraft was repaired in consultation with the manufacturer and returned to service. TSB classified as CFIT.
