MD Helicopters 369 crash near Mexicali, Mexico

A Baja California State Police MD369 helicopter crashed in the hills near Mexicali while conducting a rescue mission to recover the body of a missing hiker. The helicopter struck an electrical power cable, causing the tail rotor to detach. The aircraft crashed and burst into flames. The two state police pilots and two rescue group members were killed. The hiker's body had already been located before the crash.
