Hughes 500D crash near Loughborough Inlet, Canada

A Hughes 500D (369D) helicopter (C-GHFL, manufactured 1982) operated by West Coast Helicopters crashed during forestry operations in the Loughborough area on the central coast of British Columbia at approximately 06:15. The helicopter was manoeuvring during agricultural/forestry work when it crashed under unknown circumstances. Two of three occupants were killed. One survivor was airlifted by air ambulance, first to Canadian Forces Base Comox, then to hospital where they were in serious but stable condition. The helicopter was destroyed. The TSB is investigating.
