Hughes 500 crash near Loughborough Inlet, Canada

A Hughes 500 helicopter operated by West Coast Helicopters crashed during forestry operations in Loughborough Inlet on the central coast of British Columbia at approximately 6:15 a.m. The pilot and a crew member from a logging company were killed. A third person was airlifted by air ambulance, first to Canadian Forces Base Comox, then to hospital where they are in serious but stable condition. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is deploying investigators.
