AutoGyro MTOSport 2010 crash near Isinya, Kenya

A Kenya Wildlife Service AutoGyro MTOSport 2010 gyroplane (5Y-KWV) crashed near Birika, Isinya, Kajiado County during a solo flight training exercise. The trainee pilot was killed. The instructor was communicating via two-way radio and had instructed the student to practice simulated engine-out on the downwind leg. The student lost control during the exercise. The investigation found the probable cause was loss of control due to insufficient experience for engine-out procedures on a solo flight.
