Summary

A Lady Lori Helicopters Eurocopter EC130B4 (5Y-GYM) carrying guests of luxury safari company andBeyond crashed into the foothills of Mount Ololokwe in Samburu County at 09:13 local time while flying from Loisaba Conservancy to Ewaso Nyiro. All seven on board were killed: Kenyan pilot Josh Outram, a fourth-generation Kenyan with over 15 years of flying experience who founded the helicopter company; five Americans including Roger Edward Duarte, Adam Martin Hlavaty, Henry Parra, and Jose Alberto Suarez; and two Ecuadorians including Michele Sensi-Contugi, Director of Ecuador's National Intelligence Center, and Stephany Maria Hollihan Vasconez. A Telemundo executive was also among the dead. The helicopter crashed in rugged, inaccessible terrain. Tropic Air Kenya dispatched two rescue helicopters and Kenya Red Cross deployed emergency response teams. The US Embassy confirmed five American fatalities. Ecuador's presidency extended condolences. This is the same operator (Lady Lori Helicopters) whose EC130B4 crashed into Lake Logipi in 2010.
