Summary
A Kenya Police Air Wing Eurocopter AS350B3e (5Y-CDT, manufactured 2011) crashed into the Kibiku forest on the Ngong Hills just outside Nairobi at approximately 08:30 while en route from Wilson Airport to Homa Bay. All six on board were killed: Minister of State for Provincial Administration George Saitoti, Permanent Secretary Orwa Ojode, two pilots, and two police bodyguards. It was one of the most significant aviation disasters in Kenyan political history.
