Summary

A Kenya Air Force IAR 330G Puma (KAF420) crashed into Kiima Kiu hill in the Salama area, approximately 80km southeast of Nairobi, during a routine flight from Eastleigh AFB to Mombasa. The accident occurred in daylight but in poor weather with reduced visibility from fog and rain. All seven on board were killed. The pilot Captain Okello Habakkuk initially survived with serious burns but died 48 hours later.
