Eurocopter AS350B2 crash near sea off Fenerive-Est, Analanjirofo, Madagascar

The helicopter was flying search and rescue sorties after the loss of a cargo vessel when it came down in the sea off Fenerive-Est with four on board. The pilot and one passenger drowned. The mechanic and the secretary of state for police survived. The latter was carried by the current through the night and was picked up by a small boat the following morning after roughly twelve hours in the water.
